Doug Taylor was
Born in 1972 in Gary, Indiana. Doug's family relocated to
Dayton, Ohio and he lived there until joining the United
States Air Force after High School Graduation in 1990. After
Graduation from the USAF Security Police Academy in April of
1991, Doug returned to Dayton and married Kelly Neff on April
6, 1991.
Doug's first
Air Force station was Offutt AFB, Nebraska. Doug's military
supervisor was a born-again believer who took him under his
wing and showed him there is more to life then one realizes.
Doug and Kelly began to attend church with him and his family,
and they developed a close friendship. Kelly and his wife
attended a Christian ladies meeting where the Lord dealt with
Kelly's heart for the first time. Kelly returned home and
began telling Doug about the experience. That night many
events in Doug's life came together and the Lord began
speaking to his heart as well. In February 1993 Doug asked
Jesus into his heart. Life was instantly different and his
priorities in life changed direction.
In February of
1993 Doug was assigned to Osan AB, Korea for a 12-month remote
tour without his wife, Kelly. God's hand intervened and placed
Doug with a co-worker who attended a Baptist Church in Korea
pastored by Charlie Ross. Doug began to attend the church
there and was baptized by immersion in a big kitchen sink in
the church. While Doug was in Korea Kelly's was invited to
attend Midlands Bible Baptist Church (MBBC). It was here that
she came to receive the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior.
Upon returning
to Offutt AFB, Nebraska in February 1994 Doug and Kelly began
to attend MBBC and joined the church that March. God has
tremendously blessed, and through the teaching and preaching
of the Word of God and by way of different ministries such as
Silverstate Baptist Youth Camp in Colorado, God called Doug
out to full time Christian service. Through the years Doug and
Kelly have been blessed with three children: daughters Morgan
and Miranda born in 1995 and 1999 respectively, and son Micah,
born in 1997.
